Glazed Two Door Black Painted Bookcase Bureau
Period Oak Bookcase Bureau has been hand painted with Frenchic's Alfresco paint, Blackjack. It's a paint I use a lot because it has a beautifully smooth slight satin finish and always gives good results, and as the name suggest can be used outdoors, not that you would want to have this gorgeous piece outside but it can easily be wiped down with a damp cloth if needed.
The glazed two door cabinet/bookcase keeps the beautiful deep golden shelves dust free, perfect for your treasured antique books and other special pieces, the shelves are adjustable.
The bookcase sits on top of the writing bureau with a fold over top which comes down to reveal a stunning rich deep golden interior with compartments and a drawer.
The desk is over three full width drawers. When the desk top is pulled down two wooden supports come out automatically to hold the desk, creating a wonderful nostalgic atmosphere, a place to work on your computer or an hour or two of handwriting.
The bureau sits on painted wood feet with two polished oak spheres.
Perhaps due to the age of this piece there is an ever so slight bow in the desk top where the lock is so it does not lock very well, this does not effect the fold up top, it still moves up and down well and it stays in place when it is up. Please see photos.
The bookcase is attached to the bureau with five screws, for delivery we will separate the top from the bottom.
